Steamboat Skating Summer Camp
Ages
All skaters must be 6 years old or older to join us for this camp.
When
Summer camp will be the week of June 10th-14th at the Howelsen Ice Arena. There will be full day and half day options based on skill level. Full day will start at approximately 8:00am with an approximate pick-up time of 4:30pm.
The beginners camp will be a half day option in the mornings.
Cost
Early-bird costs for the weeklong camp are below:
Beginner half-day camp: $300
Basic 4-6 half-day camp: $300
Free skate levels FULL DAY Camp: $450
Deadline for early-bird discount is March 25th.
All pricing will increase by $25 after this time.
Schedule
Each day will be divided up to help skaters develop in all areas pertaining to figure skating. Skaters will spend time on and off the ice. On ice classes will include spins, skating skills, jumps, power, edges, and more. Off ice classes will include stretching, endurance, strength, power, dance, etc.
Detailed schedule information will be sent to registered families by May 27th.
Performance
On Friday, June 14th from 4-5pm, we will host an exhibition for parents to see what their skater has learned throughout their camp experience. All registered skaters are encouraged to participate.
Dress Code
All skaters are encouraged to wear tight fitting clothing with gloves and a jacket while on the ice. Skaters will also need to bring athletic clothing and tennis shoes for all off-ice training classes.
Additional Information
Beginner skaters are highly encouraged to wear helmets no matter what their age. Beginner skaters under the age of 8 years old are required to wear a helmet on the ice.
Extra Costs
All full-time skaters should bring a lunch and snacks for each day. Skaters should also bring their own water bottles.
Half-day skaters will need snacks and water bottles as well.
